Welcome to our New Co-Ordinator…

After 3 1/2 years of service as our Co-Ordinator for the Schubert Road Neighbourhood Watch we are saying goodbye to Louise McMeekin. Although she will still be a resident on the road she will be now be concentrating on her business commitments. Our New Co-Ordinator is Mrs Anne Towner (who has been a long term resident and an active member of the Neighbourhood Watch since it’s inception in 2011). We are sure that Anne will build on the work already done and thank her for taking on this role on all our behalf. If any residents would like to help the Schubert Road Neighbourhood Watch please do get in touch.

Thank you.

East Putney Police

We’re meeting the Police tonight to discuss issues raised by local residents…the list so far is as follows…

1) ADT kids loitering on the corner of Keswick Road and the Upper Richmond Road – on their way to and from school. Large groups of teenagers can be very intimidating.

2) Dog excrement.

3) Ineffective lighting on Oakhill Road.

4) Hoarding problems reported in one area of East Putney.

Some of these issues maybe for the council rather than the Police but all of these issues can have an effect on the area as a whole.

“Crime will not flourish in a community that cares.”

Any other ideas please let us know by 7pm tonight and we’ll bring this to the attention of our wonderful East Putney Police team.

Easy Fundraising for Neighbourhood Watch

From the OurWatch website:

“Did you know that you can turn your online shopping into donations for NHWN? Every time you buy something you could be raising money for the Network.

If you register on the website www.easyfundraising.org.uk, over 2,700 well known retailers, including Amazon, John Lewis, eBay and Tesco will donate a small percentage of what you spend to NHWN.

It’s a really simple process, all you have to do is:

Register at www.easyfundraising.org.uk
When you’re asked to choose your cause, select the Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (England & Wales)
Start shopping!

There is even an ‘Easy fundraising toolbar’ that you can install that lets you know when you are on the website of a participating retailer, so with just one click you can choose to donate and carry on shopping as normal.

There is no intrusive adverts and it doesn’t cost you anything extra on top of your shopping.

We would be grateful if you could help to spread the word about this among your Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch Associations in your area and get them to spread the message too. You might also want to tell your family and friends!”
